Week12 (2015.6.1-6.7) 经过week9&10的二口冲刺，week11的简要复盘，week12我们又要继续进行汉英口译了呢~开心吧~ 这周因为加入英译汉数字口译训练，所以汉译英练习量稍微减少。 慢慢来，才能走得更快，找好自己的正循环。不过要保证吃透每篇文章哦~

Day 43 Passage 39 浦东新兴工业区(1)

站在上海的外滩，倚浦江东望，只见昔日那片旧棚简屋，苇塘阡陌的浦东大地，到处是气魄非凡的摩天大楼。如今浦东高楼已成了上海的一大旅游景观。但是高楼大厦并非浦东的全部。更令人振奋的是技术先进、装备精良、工业产值高达上海1/4的新兴工业区的崛起。

Standing on the famous Bund of Shanghai and looking eastward across the Huangpu River, one cannot but see clusters of magnificent high-rise buildings in Pudong, which used to be largely a rural area scattered with dilapidated old houses, fields of weeds, puddles and pools. Viewing skyscrapers in Pudong has become a tourist attraction for visitors in Shanghai. But high-rise buildings are not all that Pudong has. What is more inspiring is the immergence of modern industries that make use of advanced technology, state-of-the-art equipment and the industrial output valued more than a quarter of that of the greater Shanghai.

近年来，浦东的整体工业快速更新，出现了6大支柱产业，即以生产别克轿车的上海通用汽车合资企业为领袖的汽车产业，以生产超大规模集成电路的中日合资企业为龙头的电子信息产业，以生产不锈钢的中德合资企业为骨干的钢铁产业，以中德中美合资企业为主体的石油化工及精细化工产业，以中日合作企业为代表的家用电器产业，以上海医药工业与一批世界著名医药企业联手发展起来的生物医药产业。

The last few years have seen a rapid up-grading of Pudong’s industrial manufactures as awhole, best captures by the emmergence of six pillar industries: the auto making industryheaded by Shanghai General Motors joint venture manufacturing Buick cars, the electronicsinformation industry led by sino-japanese joint venture producing super-large scale integratedcircuits, the steel making industry with sino-german joint venture as its backbone producingstainless steel sheet, the petro-chemical and fine chemical industry centering around sino-german and sino-us joint ventures, the home electronical appliances industry represented bysino-japanese joint ventures and the bio-engineering and pharmaceutical industries developedjointly by local pharmaceutical manaufactures and a number of world reknowned pharmaceuticalenterperises.

美国通用汽车公司，德国巴斯夫公司，日本日立电器公司等一批跨国公司的高级职员在谈到他们总部的投资意图时无不坦诚外方看重的是浦东在其全球战略中的地域优势，良好的投资环境和企业素质。在短短几年里，伴随着这么多世界一流企业的投资项目，当今世界最具生命力和带动力的关键产业迅速落户到浦东，跨国公司的全球销售服务网络也伸展到中国，这是全球范围市场竞争的延伸 。

When senior representatives of General Motors of the United States, BASF of Germany and Hitachi Electric of Japan talked about their investment in Pudong, they all pointed to Pudong’s geographical advantage, good investment environment and the high quality of local enterprises as Pudong’s attractions for their respective firms in their global strategy. In just a few years, along with the launch of investment projects by the first class transnationals, so many world’s most dynamic and vital industries have settled in Pudong. At the same time, the global sales and after-sales service network have extended to China. This is an extension of global market competitions.

目前在浦东前200家强强联姻企业中具有自主设计和自主开发优势的虽然不多，但中方大约有200名副总经理，1000名部门经理，3000名高中级工程技术人员，3万名技术工人正在一边干一边学，这是支撑浦东产业高地的人才基础。这些企业和人才正一起产业关联性和协作关系最终带动长江流域乃至全国数千家企业面向国际国内两个市场进行一体化生产和销售，使浦东成为融中国现代产业与世界经济主流的龙头和纽带。

Currently, among Pudong’s 200 biggest joint ventures, not many have independent designing and developing capabilities. However, on the Chinese side, about 200 deputy managing directors, 1,000 division managers, 3,000 senior and intermediate-level engineers and technologists and 30,000 skilled workers have been learning on the job. This is the talent resource foundation for sustaining Pudong’s industrial leading position. These enterprises and talents, through production-related association and cooperation, are expected to boost thousands of enterprises in the Yangtze River Valley, as well as in other parts of the country, engaging in integrated production and sales for both domestic and international markets. By doing so, Pudong will function as a leader and bridge to integrate China’s modern industry with the mainstream of the world’s economy.

Day 47 有关西藏发展建设的讲话（1）

女士们，先生们，朋友们： 中国中央政府的支持和全国各族人民的无私援助，加上突出的区域资源优势，使西藏的发展面临前所未有的机遇。但是，由于自然、历史等原因，与中国沿海兄弟省市相比，西藏仍属于欠发达地区，也面临着一些问题和挑战：

Ladies and gentlemen, dear friends: The support from the Central Chinese Government, the unselfish aids from people of all ethnic groups all over the country, and the outstanding regional advantageous resources have brought an unprecedented opportunity to the development of Tibet. But due to natural and historical reasons, Tibet is still an underdeveloped area, and is confronted with some problems and challenges if compared with coastal provinces and municipalities:

一是西藏经济基础薄弱，自我积累和自我发展能力还不强； 二是西藏基础设施还难以满足经济社会发展的需要，能源供需矛盾尤为突出； 三是发展环境需要继续优化，招商引资力度有待进一步加强； 四是商品意识不强，市场化程度还不高，特色产业的发展与规模化、市场化的要求还有较大差距； 五是各地区自然、经济条件差异大，发展不平衡，特别是农牧区社会事业发展仍然滞后，农牧民增收的长效机制尚需进一步探索建立； 六是生态环境脆弱，生态建设和环境保护任务繁重。

1. Tibet has a weak economic foundation and poor self-accumulation and self-development capability;

2. The infrastructure in Tibet is still too weak to meet the requirement of economic and social development, and the contradiction between energy supply and demand is especially serious;

3. The development conditions need to be further optimized, and the introduction of investment has to be further strengthened;

4. The commodity-based awareness is not strong enough, and the level of marketization is still low, and there is still a large disparity between the development of featuring industry and the requirement of efficient scales and marketization;

5. Great disparities still exist between different areas in the sense of natural and economic conditions and unbalanced development; especially, the development of social causes in rural areas are still lagging behind, and further research is needed to establish a long-term mechanism for the income increase of peasants and herdsmen;

6. The ecological environment is fragile, and the task of ecological construction and environmental protection is still heavy.

Day 48 有关西藏发展建设的讲话(2)

我们深知，要把握好机遇、应对好挑战，实现西藏各族人民更加幸福的生活，还需要长期的艰苦奋斗，付出无尽的艰辛汗水。西藏的发展还有很长的路要走。同时，我们深信，在中央政府的正确领导下，在全国13亿人民的无私支援下，在包括意大利在内的世界各国友人的真诚关心下，经过西藏各族人民的团结奋斗，我们一定能够成功开创一条有中国特色、西藏特点的发展路子，实现经济社会更好更快更大的发展，将中国西藏发展成为生产发展、生活富裕、生态良好的社会主义新西藏。

We are well aware that, in the face of these opportunities and challenges, it still means a long-termed painstaking struggle and endless sweat to bring a happier life to all people in Tibet. The development of Tibet still has a long way to go. But meanwhile, we are convinced that, thanks to the brilliant leadership of the Central Government, the unselfish aids by the 1.3 billion people all over China, the sincere solicitude of friends from all countries, including Italy, and with the rallied struggle of all people of various ethnic groups in Tibet, we will certainly build a new road of development with Chinese and Tibetan characteristics. In this case, we will be able to achieve a better, higher and greater economic and social development, turning the Tibet of China into a new socialist one with advanced industries, better-off life and benign ecological environment.

意大利作为文明古国，在现代化建设方面取得了巨大成就，积累了丰富经验。我们真诚希望，各位意大利朋友能够为西藏的发展建设提出宝贵意见。同时，我们也十分愿意和你们在经济、文化、学术等各领域开展交流合作。

As a civilization of a long history, Italy has made great achievements in its modernization, and accumulated abundant experiences. We sincerely hope Italian friends and experts, scholars from all countries and people of all circles offer their precious suggestions for the development and construction of Tibet.
