“ScalersTalk 口译进阶小组”的前身是“ScalersTalk 交传小组”，成立于 2015 年 2 月，现阶段，小组继续专注高级阶段的交替传译与同声传译训练，在巩固语言基本功的同时训练各类口译技能，从而为承担正式场合的口译打下坚实基础。96 周起，小组全面引入 CATTI 新版二口教材的训练，时间为每天晚上 8 点到 9 点，训练期间播放录音、记笔记，在空白处按暂停键后做口译，用 QQ 发群语音，然后对照文档，查找漏译和错译的部分，标出口译时较为困难的词汇和表达，随时发到群里；每天早上 6 点到 7 点训练复述。
Well, today's teenagers are rarely alone. They're under pressure to be online and available at all times, talking, messaging, liking, commenting, sharing, posting — it never ends. Never before have we been so connected, so continuously, so instantaneously, so young. And as one mom told me, it's like there's a party in their bedroom every night. There's simply no privacy. And the social pressures that go along with that are relentless. This always-on environment is training our kids to value themselves based on the number of likes they get and the types of comments that they receive. There's no separation between online and offline life. What's real or what isn't is really hard to tell the difference between. And it's also really hard to tell the difference between what's authentic and what's digitally manipulated. What's a highlight in someone's life versus what's normal in the context of everyday.

Never before have we been: 倒装句型
continuous: continuing to happen or exist without stopping
instantaneous: happening immediately
relentless: something bad that is relentless continues without ever stopping or getting less severe
manipulate: to control something or someone to your advantage, often unfairly or dishonestly
context: the situation within which something exists or happens, and that can help explain it

这里的“under pressure”如果译为“被迫”，语气稍有些重，其实这里更接近“peer pressure”，译为“承受着压力，一定要……”可以保留这层意思。“online”和“available”在意思上有区别，一个是“在线”，一个是“有求必应”，不过同传时不宜在“available”上花费太多时间，可以顺着“at all times”往下说，译为“随时都在”。
Never before have we been so connected, so continuously, so instantaneously, so young.
这句话倒装的部分其实难度不大，难在后面的罗列，四个单词，但每个都有丰富的意思，而且在中文里头不能不做区分，否则很难理解。其实前三个词的意思很近，都在强调现在的交流太方便了，离得那么近（connected），都没有停下来的时候（continuously），想看就看想聊就聊（instantaneously），如果时间来不及，也可以总结这层意思：“以前我们没试过这样随时随地都在聊，才这么小。”

“based on”一瞬间会想到“基于”，但既然前面是“看待自己”，后面译为“就看”会更加传神。
最后的四句对比要把那层差异译出来：线上和线下，现实和虚幻，真实和数字操控，光鲜和日常。如果前面的“real”先译了“真实”，有余力的话，后面的“authentic”可译为“未经加工”。

These trends are teamed with the stereotyping and flagrant objectification of women in today's popular culture. It is not hard to see what girls are benchmarking themselves against. But boys are not immune to this either. Aspiring to the chiseled jaw lines and ripped six packs of superhero-like sports stars and playboy music artists.

newsfeed: a list of newly published content on a website
size zero models: 零码模特。零码为美国服装尺码的加小号（比0更小的还有00），常用以形容瘦削的骨感身材。
airbrushing: a common technique used in photography to correct flaws
anorexia: a mental illness that makes someone stop eating
flagrant: a flagrant action is shocking because it is done in a way that is easily noticed and shows no respect for laws, truth etc
objectification: the act of treating people as if they are objects, without rights or feelings of their own
benchmark: to measure the quality of something by comparing it with something else of an accepted standard
chiseled: formed or crafted as if with a chisel
ripped: having high muscle definition

这句话前面的列举说得很快，反应时间有限，可以提炼它们的意思（此时屏幕上有列举的文字信息）：“流行的是瘦腰，瘦腿，比基尼桥和proana”。讲者在提到proana的下一秒立刻就进行了解释，所以可以先保留英文。
