“ScalersTalk口译进阶小组”的前身是“ScalersTalk交传小组”，该小组成立于2015年2月，目前已完成虐口译训练（《英语三级口译实务》教材篇章精练与复盘）、口译通关训练（《英语二级口译实务》教材篇章精练与复盘以及口译进阶训练（英汉同声传译入门、政府工作报告汉英视译、英汉语言刻意训练）。2017年1月1日，小组正式更名为“ScalersTalk口译进阶小组，专注高级阶段的交替传译与同声传译训练。我们针对英译汉开展融“交替传译”、“无稿同传”、“限时视译”于一体的模块训练，汉译英部分将通过“反向进英”练习夯实成员的语言基础并继续通过政府工作报告汉译英帮助成员积累背景知识和有关中国各方面发展的表达。
本周英译汉的练习材料是《联合国2016年工作回顾》的中英文视频，内容涵盖2016年国际范围内发生的热点事件，如叙利亚危机、难民问题、哥伦比亚和平进程、海地飓风、气候变化巴黎协议签署等。在练完英汉交替传译、同声传译和限时视译后，将中文内容译为英文，学习原文的词汇、表达和句型句式。这种像原文学习的方法可以帮助翻译学习者在短时间内积累语言材料，提高应用能力。汉译英部分继续利用《政府工作报告》学习相关表达、积累领域知识。
本次复盘内容包括：1）2016 United Nations Year in Review（视频网址[英文]] ），完成交替传译、限时视译、反向进英和同声传译练习；2）回顾2016年政府工作报告第“十二五期间成果”部分视译（由于内容与2016年工作回顾部分十分相似，故省略复盘笔记内容）。

At the Opening of the General Assembly, Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon held member states accountable for the tragedy: (UN SECRETARY-GENERAL BAN KI-MOON): “Powerful patrons that keep feeding the war machine also have blood on their hand. Present in this Hall today are representatives of governments that have ignored, facilitate, funded, participated in or even planned and carried out atrocities inflicted by all sides of the Syria conflict against Syrian civilians.” The Security Council stayed paralyzed, veto after veto blocked every resolution to end the war: UK Ambassador, Matthew Rycroft: “Time and again, Russia has vetoed to prevent the Security Council from finding the unity necessary for ending the war. Therefore again I ask, what will it take?” Russian Ambassador Vitaly Churkin: H.E. MR. VITALY CHURKIN (In Russian)“If our Western colleagues are truly concerned about the plight of civilian in eastern Aleppo, and indeed in the whole of Syria, then they need above all to take genuine and practical steps — stop supporting terrorists and lift unilateral sanction.”

And finally, agreement in the Security Council over Aleppo, with a resolution to protect desperate civilians evacuating the shattered city, while UN monitors watch over them. Similar images in Iraq: Government forces are fighting to drive ISIS militants from their last stronghold in Mosul. Half a million civilians in the city face bombings and catastrophic water shortages. Thousands were able to escape, seeking shelter in freezing temperatures. The UN’s Refugee Agency rushed to set up 6 new camps in the desert, preparing for a massive new wave of displacement.

Cholera spread rapidly, when raw sewage spilled into the flood waters as the UN rushed in aid teams. In a watershed moment this December, Ban Ki-moon apologized for the UN’s Role in not stemming the cholera epidemic of 2010: “On behalf of the United Nations, I want to say very clearly: we apologise to the Haitian people. We simply did not do enough with regard to the cholera outbreak and its spread in Haiti. We are profoundly sorry for our role.”

“Cholera spread rapidly, when raw sewage spilled into the flood waters as the UN rushed in aid teams”本句顺译时，切忌陷入复杂的句子结构中，否则会给自己造成很大的压力。建议将复杂的句子断句处理成“Cholera spread rapidly, //when raw sewage spilled into the flood waters// as the UN rushed in aid teams”；遇到“when”和“as”时也请先等一等，再视后文情况处理。
“We simply did not do enough with regard to the cholera outbreak and its spread in Haiti”译作“我们的努力还不够，霍乱疫情爆发及蔓延未被阻止。我们非常抱歉。”
