“ScalersTalk口译进阶小组”的前身是“ScalersTalk交传小组”，该小组成立于2015年2月。现阶段，小组专注高级阶段的交替传译与同声传译训练，在巩固语言基本功的同时训练各类口译技能，从而为承担正式场合的口译打下坚实基础。
自古以来，科学技术就以一种不可逆转、不可抗拒的力量推动着人类社会向前发展。 2014年习近平总书记曾指出：“近代史上，我国落后挨打的根子之一就是科技落后。” 当今时代，新一轮科技革命和产业变革正在孕育兴起。 2016年习近平总书记又指出：“创新不是别人能赐予的，特别是在关键技术、核心技术上，只能靠中国人自己的努力，否则你只能跟着别人走。” 今天，中国的战略抉择是，把创新作为引领发展的第一动力，把科技创新摆在国家发展全局的核心位置，大力实施创新驱动发展战略。 看病、下馆子、叫外卖，菜市场、加油站、甚至路边摊，中国到处都能移动支付。 在中国，每三个手机用户，就有两个在使用移动支付。这里是全球最大的移动支付市场。 2016年，中国移动支付金额超过208万亿元，世界第一。
From ancient times, science and technology has been an irreversible and irresistible force, pushing forward the development of mankind. In 2014, President Xi Jinping pointed out, “In Modern Times, China was backward because of our weak technology.” A new round of scientific revolution and industrial transformation is taking place. In 2016, President Xi said, “Innovation cannot be endowed by others, especially in key and core technologies. We can only rely on ourselves; otherwise, we can only follow the others.” Today, China’s strategy is that innovation should become the primary force driving development, and technology should be at the core of national blueprint. The strategy of innovation-driven development must be in place. We see a doctor, dine out, order take-out, and go to vegetable market, gas station and roadside market. In China, we use mobile payment everywhere. In China, among three mobile phone users, two are using mobile payment. China the largest mobile payment market in the world. In 2016, our mobile payment turnover reached 208 trillion RMB, ranking the first in the world.

遵循实词开句的原则，将三个分句译成三个独立的句子，并将把字句处理成被动语态，既符合顺译的要求，也符合语言习惯；
整句译为“Innovation cannot be endowed by others, especially in key and core technologies. We can only rely on ourselves; otherwise, we can only follow the others”。
看病、下馆子、叫外卖，菜市场、加油站、甚至路边摊，中国到处都能移动支付：
本句前面是长长的事物列举，到句尾才指出重点。本着顺译的原则，处理时在句首添加主语“we”，将前面的事物列举独立译成一句；
整句译为“We see a doctor, dine out, order take-out, and go to vegetable market, gas station and roadside market. In China, we use mobile payment everywhere”。
在中国，每三个手机用户，就有两个在使用移动支付。
这里有个陷阱。听到“每三个”的时候常常会误以为就是三个里有一个，结果其实是两个。因而在处理时，要么等一等，要么处理成独立的状语；
整句译为“In China, among three mobile phone users, two are using mobile payment”。

We are proud of our motherland.
外国人来中国最想带什么特产回家？
第一种处理：What are specialties the international visitors want to bring back home most?；
第二种处理，顺译：The international visitors come to China. What specialties do they want most to bring back home?；
连续三年排名世界第一的中国快递业，正向每天运送1亿件包裹发起冲刺；
连续三年：for three consecutive years，也可译作for three years in a row；
正向每天运送1亿件包裹发起冲刺：有两种处理方式，其一为预测先译，即It aims at delivering 100m parcels a day；其二为实词开句，即everyday 100million parcels are to be delivered. This is our target；
整句译为“For three years in a row, China's express delivery service ranks the first in the world. It aims at delivering 100m parcels a day”，或“For three consecutive years, China's express delivery service ranks the first in the world. Every day, 100 million parcels are to be delivered. This is our target.”
更为企业插上了腾飞的翅膀：解读为“促进企业的发展”，译作“facilitated the development of the business”。
行业领域即行业，译作industry。

拉伸人们对“顶配中国”的想象：解读为“能够让人们来想像‘顶配中国’（的样子）”，译作“have ‘captured’ people’s imagination of a ‘best-equipped’ China”。

解读为：年轻人成为国之支柱，是中国创新的利器；
整句可译作“Young people has become a pillar of China’s innovation”；
亦可译作“Young people have become a pillar. They are the weapons of China’s innovation”。
锐意创新、敢为人先，中国创新的沃土上，他们蓬勃向上：
锐意创新即创新，敢为人先指的是勇于先一步开辟道路，可译成一个句子，如“They are determined to innovate and blaze the trail”，也可译成状语“Being innovative and courageous”；
整句译作“They are determined to innovate and blaze the trail. On this fertile land of innovation, they are forging ahead”或“Being innovative and courageous, on China’s journey towards innovation, they are thriving”。

第89周训练重点汉英同传，材料是《辉煌中国》第二集，主题是创新活力（视频链接： ），重点是科技在中国的发展及其重要的作用。小组成员利用该材料练习了同声传译和限时视译，并学习原文的词汇、表达和句型句式。设备建议：你需要电脑或手机播放音频、手机发送语音。本周也进行了英汉同传及二级口译教材关于会议致辞的每日晚间训练，训练目的在于通过多次反复有笔记听译、无笔记复述、对比原文学习地道的或更好的词、句型、表达方式来训练教材的内容。本日志整理的是第89周练习英译汉部分。
