写在前面的话

“ScalersTalk 口译进阶小组”的前身是“ScalersTalk 交传小组”，成立于 2015 年 2 月，现阶段，小组继续专注高级阶段的交替传译与同声传译训练，在巩固语言基本功的同时训练各类口译技能，从而为承担正式场合的口译打下坚实基础。 96 周起，小组全面引入 CATTI 新版二口教材的训练，时间为每天晚上 8 点到 9 点，训练期间播放录音、记笔记，在空白处按暂停键后做口译，用 QQ 发群语音，然后对照文档，查找漏译和错译的部分，标出口译时较为困难的词汇和表达，随时发到群里；每天早上 6 点到 7 点训练复述。

本周复盘说明

第 108 周训练材料来自《英语口译实务（2级）》第五单元第一篇汉译英，选自中国食品药品国际交流中心和中国经济网承办的 2015 年国际食品安全会议的演讲。会议在北京举行，会议主题为“食品安全国际共治”。本篇演讲为国家食品药品监督管理总局局长毕井泉的致闭幕词。他表示，食品安全最大的风险是农药兽药残留和食品添加剂的滥用。防范食品安全风险最重要的基础性工作，是完善食品安全标准及检测方法，把可能的风险纳入到我们监管的视野。 小组成员利用该材料练习了交替传译和限时视译，并学习原文的词汇、表达和句型句式。本日志整理的是第 108 周练习汉译英的内容。

With a population of 1.3 billion, China is a large food producer and consumer. Food safety is always a top priority to our Party and government. In recent years, we seriously implemented the requirements set by the Party Central Committee for the most rigorous standards, the strictest supervision, the severe punishment and the most serious accountability, and worked hard with all parties of the society to strengthen supervision and ensure food safety. We are devoted to setting up a unified and authoritative food safety regulatory system. The reorganization of food and drug regulatory agencies integrated the food safety supervision functions that were scattered in different ministries. The local governments of each level have set up food safety committee, endeavoring to implement seamless regulation from the land to the table and from production to consumption.

We are devoted to improving the laws and regulations in food safety supervision. In April this year, the National People's Congress adopted the newly-revised Food Safety Law, which clarifies the principles of prevention-orientation, risk management, whole-process control and social co-governance. The Food Safety Law provides important legal and institutional guarantee for imposing severe punishment on food safety violations. We are devoted to the prevention of food safety risks. The biggest risk for food safety is in the area of pesticide and veterinarian medicine residues most crucial and the food additive abuse. The most effective measure for law enforcement in the prevention of food safety risk is information publicity. Releasing information on substandard products to the public is the best production for consumers, the best deterrent for food safety violators, the strongest oversight on law enforcement bodies, the most proactive guidance for social media and the biggest contribution to the development of the credit system. We strongly believe, with the great importance attached by Central Committee of the Communist Party and the State Council and with their able leadership, with the stronger awareness of responsibilities by the manufacturers and distributors, with the oversight of all media and consumers, we certainly will be able to fulfill the responsibilities as food safety regulatory authority and to ensure the safety of every bite of food for the public.
