“ScalersTalk口译进阶小组”的前身是“ScalersTalk交传小组”，该小组成立于2015年2月，目前已完成虐口译训练（《英语三级口译实务》教材篇章精练与复盘）、口译通关训练（《英语二级口译实务》教材篇章精练与复盘以及口译进阶训练（英汉同声传译入门、政府工作报告汉英视译、英汉语言刻意训练）。2017年1月1日，小组正式更名为“ScalersTalk口译进阶小组，专注高级阶段的交替传译与同声传译训练。我们针对英译汉开展融“交替传译”、“无稿同传”、“限时视译”于一体的模块训练，汉译英部分将通过“反向进英”练习夯实成员的语言基础并继续通过政府工作报告汉译英帮助成员积累背景知识和有关中国各方面发展的表达。
2017年的英译中采用分话题练习的形式。每月确定一个主题。本月主题为国际和平与安全，所用材料选自联合国大会、安理会及国际刑警组织等国际组织会议的现场发言。

It is a privilege to address the Security Council once again. Let me thank the Lithuanian Presidency for having INTERPOL present, as Ministers of Interior gather before this body for the first time in history.

Security Council的组织机构为：安理会主席国，附属机构（委员会：反恐怖主义和不扩散委员会，军事参谋团，制裁委员会，常设委员会和特设机构），维持和平行动和政治特派团，国际法庭。
“Let me thank the Lithuanian Presidency”有两种顺译处理。Presidency意为主席国，全句译为“感谢主席国立宛陶”，或“感谢立宛陶作为主席国”。
INTERPOL全称为International Criminal Police Organization，国际刑警组织成立于1923年，最初名为国际刑警委员，后改名为国际刑警组织，是继联合国外，规模第二大的国际组织，也是全球最大的警察组织，包括184个成员国，每年预算超过3000万欧元。1989年以前总部设于法国巴黎，其后迁往里昂。现在它有182个成员国，其运作资金由成员国拨出。
国际刑警组织的主要任务是汇集、审核国际犯罪资料，研究犯罪对策；负责同成员国之间的情报交换；搜集各种刑事犯罪案件及犯罪指纹、照片、档案；通报重要案犯线索、通缉追捕重要罪犯和引渡重要犯罪分子；编写有关刑事犯罪方面的资料等。
At its core, a single goal: breaking the cycle – from radicalization to return. A cycle which we saw tragically completed in the streets of Brussels. A single individual, carrying lethal skills refined through a year spent in Syria; able to leave the conflict and travel freely throughout South East Asia; and to finally re-enter Europe to strike against innocents.
其核心是一个目标：打破循环——避免极端主义回潮。这一循环终结于布鲁塞尔街头的悲剧。一个人，带着致命技能，他花了一年的时间在叙利亚训练；他离开冲突，自由穿梭于整个东南亚，最终重新回到欧洲袭击无辜民众。

“A cycle which we saw tragically completed in the streets of Brussels.”有两种顺译处理方式，其一将重心放在“completed”，即“这一循环终结于布鲁塞尔街头的悲剧”；其二将重心放在“tragically”上，即“这一循环体现了悲剧，悲剧发生在布鲁塞尔街头”。
Such was the case last year, when a suspect was apprehended on his way to Syria, thanks to Belgium’s decision to issue an international alert through INTERPOL, and thanks to the actions taken by Lebanese officials on the ground, based on that intelligence.

“thanks to…, thanks to”译作“归功于……，还归功于……”；“through INTERPOL”有两种处理，其一为重复谓语，译作“通过国际刑警组织发出”，其二为介词through转换成名词，译作“平台是国际刑警组织”。
based on that intelligence 顺译技巧为被动变的，译作“其（它的）基础是这一情报”。
《纲要草案》紧紧围绕全面建成小康社会奋斗目标，针对发展不平衡、不协调、不可持续等突出问题，强调要牢固树立和贯彻落实创新、协调、绿色、开放、共享的发展理念，明确了今后五年经济社会发展的主要目标任务，提出了一系列支撑发展的重大政策、重大工程和重大项目，突出了以下六个方面。
The draft centers/focuses on the goal of building a moderately prosperous society. It strives to address serious issues such as unbalanced, uncoordinated, and unsustainable development. It also stresses/highlights the development concepts featuring innovative, coordinative, green, open and shared development. It proposes/has identified the main targets and tasks for economic and social development over the next five years. It has also proposed development policies, initiatives, and projects. They are manifested/shown/demonstrated in the following six areas.
口译时，一般采用主谓宾结构组句，不推荐使用独立结构。比如本小段中文部分由一个句子组成，但是译成英文时则可分成几个小句子，且采用主动形式。“围绕……，针对……，强调……，明确……，提出……”译为“The draft centers/focuses on…, and it strives to…. It also highlights…. It proposes/has identified…. It has also proposed…”
“紧紧围绕全面建成小康社会奋斗目标”即“围绕小康社会目标”，译作“centers/focuses on the goal of building a moderately prosperous society”。
“强调要牢固树立和贯彻落实创新、协调、绿色、开放、共享的发展理念”即“强调创新、协调、绿色、开放、共享的发展理念”，译作“It also stresses/highlights the development concepts featuring innovative, coordinative, green, open and shared development”。
“工程、项目”译作“initiative”
加快推进产业结构优化升级，实施一批技术水平高、带动能力强的重大工程。到2020年，先进制造业、现代服务业、战略性新兴产业比重大幅提升，全员劳动生产率从人均8.7万元提高到12万元以上。届时，我国经济总量超过90万亿元，发展的质量和效益明显提高。在我们这样一个人口众多的发展中国家，这将是非常了不起的成就。
We will speed up industrial upgrading. We will launch major projects that can use advanced technologies and drive/promote industrial development. By 2020, the share of advanced manufacturing, modern services, and strategic emerging industries will have improved significantly. Per capita labor productivity will have risen/increased from 87,000 yuan to over 120,000 yuan. By that time/by then, China’s aggregate economic output should have exceeded 90 trillion yuan, and the quality and efficacy of development should have significantly improved. For such a populace country like China, this will be a truly remarkable achievement.
涉及未来发展的举措和目标的译文时态为将来完成时。
“加快推进产业结构优化升级”即“加快产业结构升级”，译作主动语态为“We will speed up industrial upgrading”。
“带动能力强的重大工程”中的“带动能力强”解读为“引导使之前进/发展的能力强”，译为“drive/promote industrial development”。

“在我们这样一个人口众多的发展中国家”译作“For such a populace country like China”。
