写在前面的话

“ScalersTalk 口译进阶小组”的前身是“ScalersTalk 交传小组”，成立于 2015 年 2 月，现阶段，小组继续专注高级阶段的交替传译与同声传译训练，在巩固语言基本功的同时训练各类口译技能，从而为承担正式场合的口译打下坚实基础。

本周复盘说明

第 200 周训练材料选用了两篇关于和平的演讲，小组成员利用该材料练习了同声传译，并学习原文的词汇、表达和句型句式。设备建议：你需要电脑或手机播放音频、手机发送语音。本日志整理的是Daniele Ganser 的演讲War and Peace in the 21st century--the stories in our minds的部分内容。

I am a historian, and I want to talk about the future. And that’s a little bit strange, because historians usually speak about the past, right? They talk about the 19 century,and the British Empire , for instance. But I think now it’s a time what we all interested in this crucial question of will there be more peace in the 21 century? Because that is exactly the century where we live where our kids live and that’s why we are interested in this question. Right now, we know that we have both war and peace at the same time, but in different countries. As we got the here, we have war in Syria right now going on about 400,000 people killed. And we realize that we can only have this gathering, have this very interesting speeches that I much enjoy because we have peace.

This picture to the left is a picture that shows that we can create peacefully among different relations and among different nations and also among genders. And the picture to the right shows that the times we found ourselves in wars. This picture was taken in the Iraq. 1 million Muslims were killed in that war. To me it is a war for resources and oil gas, so some researchers have suggested that technology should save us, green growth, solar cells should take us out of this wars that we fight for oil and gas And you know I have this hope, I really hope, but 100% renewable is something that we actually can do in the 21 century.
