“ScalersTalk 口译进阶小组”的前身是“ScalersTalk 交传小组”，成立于 2015 年 2 月，现阶段，小组继续专注高级阶段的交替传译与同声传译训练，在巩固语言基本功的同时训练各类口译技能，从而为承担正式场合的口译打下坚实基础。

大家好，我是张薇，目前担任联合国开发计划署驻华代表处首席传播官。今天非常高兴可以为大家介绍可持续发展目标四——确保包容和公平的优质教育，让全民终身享受学习的机会。自2000年后，全球范围内初等教育的普及工作已经取得了很大进展。2015年发展中国家小学入学率达91%，全球儿童辍学率相较15年前下降近一半，文盲率显着降低，女学童比例达到历史新高，成果举世瞩目。但是由于严重的贫困现象，武装冲突以及其他的紧急情况，发展中国家的教育事业依旧面临着严峻的挑战。

Today I’m delighted to introduce to you Sustainable Development Goal 4——Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education, and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.   • “教育的普及工作”中的“工作”是范畴词，无需译出，即使非要译，也是effort，不用work，这体现了中英语言的差别。“普及”不一定要用“popularize” 或“universalize”，都太过直译。此处翻译的时候，应去查哪些动词跟education搭配？查完牛津搭配词典第2版发现，更多使用deliver/promote education来搭配。

  • 这里两句合并一句翻译：因为中文多流水句，小短句，而英文要体现句子之间的衔接。通过分析发现，第二句是第一句的具体进展，所以可以用with+一系列的名词或动名词列出。

However, education development remains very imbalanced with dropout rate of children from poor families 4 times that of their wealthy peers and a yawning urban-rural gap. Despite the basic gender equality in primary education worldwide, few countries could realize the same goal in all levels of education, including tertiary education. However, as we all know, getting access to quality education is the basis for improving livelihood and achieving sustainable development.

  • 中文句子中有很多部分都可以作主语，选取合适的主语很重要。比如，这里把“西亚和北非” 处理成地名。

  • 导致“儿童辍学率持续上升”，中文喜欢用“主谓结构”，英文喜欢用“偏正结构”，因此把“辍学率持续上升”转换成“上升的辍学率”，成为名词短语，也更好和前面的cause/lead to/result in 这些词搭配。

  • 文中的“此外”是speaker的口头禅，如果你通读全篇可以发现多处使用，因此可以不译，这里就是事实的罗列。另一个慎用的是“虽然”，英文中有了虽然，后面通常要跟表示转折意味的内容。可我们看看这一部分，虽然部分信息量过大，需要单独成句，不如就把 “虽然”后移，用下一句的“however”体现，这一句只铺陈背景。后半段的“贫富”和“城乡”差距可以整合在一句话中。

• 此外，世界在初等教育阶段已经基本实现了男女平等，但在包括高等教育的所有教育阶段都能实现这个目标的国家仍旧非常的少。

  • 这里面注意所有教育阶段其实是指不同水平的教育，在联合国文件中也是用all levels of education。“高等教育”这里最好用tertiary education，又称第三级教育或中学后教育，是完成中学教育之后新的教育阶段。世界银行定义高等教育包括大学以及教授进一步学习的具体能力的机构，比如学院、技术培训机构、社区大学、护理学校、研究实验室、卓越中心，以及远距离学习中心。
