slow down production，我翻译这个的时候想都没想就翻译成了 “降低产量”，其实这是我自己想当然了，应该是“放慢生产”。希望大家在遇到自己熟悉的词组的时候多思考一下，不要想当然。

主要还是要避免词汇、句式过于简单的问题。
David Cameron’s hopes for a far-reaching overhaul of Britain’s relationship with the EU were dealt an early setback on Wednesday when Germany said the UK’s partners would not be rushed into changing the bloc’s treaties to meet its reform demands.

rush （sb.） into sth/doing sth ①（使某人）仓促行事：Don't rush me — this needs thinking about. 别催我，这事值得考虑考虑 ；②突袭（某人/某事物）：rush the enemies' positions，defences.向敌人的阵地、防式突然发起袭击；
bloc's treaties 集团条约，这里指欧盟条约。
这句话的难点在于 "hopes for sth were dealt an setback" ...的希望遭遇挫折,这个 "dealt"在这里真的是有些不好处理。
欧盟统计局(Eurostat)对国内生产总值(GDP)的初步估测与经济学家的预期基本一致，并超出了去年末季0.3%的增长率。一季度美国和英国的增长率分别为0.2%和0.3%。

有些词汇自己真的想不到用，“初步估计” 的“初步”竟然用的 "flash"；“超过”用的“beat”。这些词汇其实根本只能算是认识，用的话只会用其表面意思，说明还不能算是积极词汇，还是缺乏积累；
In a sign of a broader distrust of London’s motives, Wolfgang Schäuble, Germany’s finance minister, also lashed out at George Osborne’s “silly” and “unnecessary” record of intervening over the eurozone crisis. "in a sign of" 这里原译者处理成了动词"表明"，这也是一个难点之一；
"record"放在这里，我在翻译的时候感觉把这个 "record" 翻译出来会有些奇怪，所以我以为是可以不译那波的，直接译成了“行为”。这里还是有些欠考虑。
法国和意大利更为稳健的经济表现提振了欧元区，并且助燃了欧元区经济较弱地区信心正在增强的希望，尽管希腊再度陷入衰退。

提振 lift,（解除[某项规定或法规]，撤销[限制]：lift a restriction/an embargo /sanctions)；

“助燃了欧元区经济较弱地区信心正在增强的希望” 这句话是一个难点，处理的时候很乱，注意要逐层剥开，处理成定语从句；
英语好形象，“提振” 直接就是"lift"，“助燃”就是 "fuel".
The directors and officers of the Buyer in office on the effective date of the merger shall continue in office as directors and officers of the Buyer for the term elected until their respective successors shall be elected.
企业合并生效之日，买方的在职董事和在职高级职员应继续留任为买方的董事和高级职员，其任期保留到选举出他们各自的继任人为止。

这句话选自法律合同翻译，通篇虽然没有生词，句式也很简单，但处理起来却不太容易，几乎每个词汇在这种特定的语境下都有特定的意思。而且法律合同翻译，在准确性上更是容不得半点马虎。
生活从不眷顾因循守旧，满足现状者，而将更多机遇留给勇于和善于改革创新的人们。
Life never favors those who always follow the beaten path and content themselves with the status quo. Instead, life saves opportunities for people who are willing and able to reform and innovate.
眷顾 favor；
因循守旧 always follow the beaten path，（beaten path 踏平的路，惯常走的路）；
满足现状 content themselves with the status quo；
把机遇留给某人 save opportunities for sb.；
勇于和善于做... be willing and able to do sth；
这种偏文学性的翻译，首先的一道坎就是将这些文绉绉的汉语转换成大白话；第二道坎就是将这些大白话翻译成英语。
（Alibaba ）The Chinese ecommerce group unveiled new, hard-to-copy symbols that are similar to QR codes — the square, crossword puzzle-like bar codes that can be scanned and read by a smartphone camera — will become part of product labels to ensure authenticity if Alibaba’s online sellers request them.
这家中国电商集团推出了类似二维码（构成一个正方形的条码，能够被智能手机扫描和读取）的新符号，如果阿里巴巴的线上卖家提出要求的话，这种难以被复制的符号将成为商品标签的一部分，以确保商品为正品。

阿里巴巴好火，几乎每周FT 都会有一篇关于阿里的文章；
这句话虽然没有什么生词，但着实有些难处理。首先，这个symbol就给人弄的云里雾里，首先我们看到unveil结合阿里公司，想到的应该是啥软件或是计划，而这个是"symbol", “发布一个符号”总感觉很奇怪；其次，各种短句词汇介绍这个symbol，很难组织紧密的语言；最后，"ensure authenticity if Alibaba’s online sellers request them."这句话也给人弄的摸不着头脑。
容闳，出生于公元1828年，卒于公元1912年，号纯甫，广东香山（今中山县）人，近代中国著名爱国者、杰出的社会活动家和向西方学习的先驱。
Rong Hong，his literary name Chunpu，was born in Xiangshan （Now Zhongshan County）, Guangdong Province in 1828 and died in 1912. He was an ardent patriot of modern China, a prominent social activist and a pioneer who encouraged learning from the West.
号 literary name；
县 county；
著名爱国者 an ardent patriot，（ardent 热心的，热情的）；

这句话总体不难，“号” 可能我们想不到用"literary"。在翻译“著名的，杰出的” 我们可能存在用词简单的这一问题。
The announcement was designed to woo luxury brands to Alibaba’s marketplaces — L’Oréal and Ferrero Rocher, the chocolatier, already use the technology — and comes as the world’s second-largest internet companyby market capitalisations bedevilled by accusations that merchants on its platforms peddle fake goods.

这句话“and comes as....”这里不太好处理，而原译者将其处理成“而眼下...”真的是很巧妙。
容闳出生在贫苦农民家庭，童年时，父亲为把他培养成买办，设法将他送到澳门，在英国人创办的一所小学里受启蒙教育。
Though Rong Hong was born in a poor peasant's family, his father, in the hope of making him a comprador, managed to send him to a school in Macao set up by the British, for elementary education.

这句话整体在词汇上，句式上都没什么难点；
这里注意是“贫苦农民”，所以要用"peasant" 而不用"farmer"。
Saudi Arabia, the largest crude exporter, could phase out the use of fossil fuels by the middle of this century, the kingdom’s oil minister, Ali al-Naimi, said yesterday.

第一段"by the middle of this century"是“到本世纪中叶”，在这里我就犯了一个错误，译成了“在本世纪中叶”，一字之差就谬之千里了；
第二段虽然不长，但我认为并不好处理。难点主要在" The statement represents a stunning admission "；
"in coming years"大家注意是“在几年之后”而不是“在未来”；
1847年，在香港的一些英美人士的赞助下，容闳赴美留学，进入了马萨诸塞州孟松学校。毕业后，他又考入了美国著名的耶鲁大学。在大学里，他发愤苦读，克服了数学基础差和费用不足的种种困难，终于以优良的成绩获得了文学学士学位。容闳是第一个毕业于美国大学的中国留学生。

汉译英的时候，我们会发现有很多小词，比如"ever, then 等"，因为在汉语中并没有直接表现出来，我们自己意识不到将其译出。这应该就是我们的中式思维，汉英的过程中完全按照我们惯常的思维去翻译而忽略了地道的表达。
